How Asterisk Kept Businesses Running

An amazing day today, large parts of southern California were without land line or cell service as the telephone grid dropped offline. However, DSL circuits stayed up. This was a perfect time to show off an Asterisk PBX system to one of our clients. Using Asterisk@Home and VOIPJet, we were able to bring phone service to our client while thousands of businesses were still down.

To document exactly what we did, i wrote up an article and posted it at VOIPSpeak.

VOIPSpeak

The VOIP Revolution is upon us and the Geek Gazette just isn't specific enough for my tastes. GG will continue to host VOIP articles but will also feature many general IT articles like it has already. To create a site that really is aimed at the VOIP market, we have launched a new site today called VOIPSpeak. Please tell everyone you know about the new site.

Had to turn on word authentication

Due to this blog getting hammered with automated comment spam, I have been forced to turn on word authentication for new comments. Blogger.com doesn't have a good way of removing all posts from a specifc user or even a good way to report the abuse so the only thing anyone can do is to make it harder for people to post comments. I apologize for the inconvenience, but its the best I cant do for now.
